Social Worker
An Elementary School Counselor performs the vital role of setting the tone for developing the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent, and confident learners. Through a comprehensive developmental School Counseling Program, counselors work as a team with parents, school staff, and the community to create a caring climate and atmosphere. By providing education, prevention, early identification and intervention, school counselors can help all children to achieve academic success and reach their full potential.
School social workers provide direct and indirect services to students, families, and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social successes. School social workers are usually employed by the school district or an agency contracted through the school district to provide services.

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.
Connecting To Community
At Cedar East Elementary, an integrated approach for enhancing the health and well-being of every student comes through the involvement of the school, parents, and the community.
We strive to empower students, parents, and schools through safety, connection, and confidence.
